What is the Cloud?
Everybody is talking about "the Cloud". It is being hailed as a universal panacea by all the organisations who are invested in it. So is there anything in it?
There are certainly big advantages for companies that have a mobile workforce who need reliable access to company data. And when you throw in the headache of managing data security and backups it can also make sense for more static organisations.
CJG are currently investigating the claims and will try to determine how much cost saving you could expect by moving some, or all, of your systems to the cloud. We're looking at half-way houses (such as hosted Exchange) and also the full cloud experience which can be gained from signing up to projects such as Microsoft's BPOS (Business Productivity Online) Suite.
